Hi everyone!

This weekend was the annual Greek festival that my church hosts! The name of the festival is Glendi, which simply means “party” in Greek. I’ve been going to the festival for as long as I can remember and it’s something I look forward to every year. The weekend is more to me than just a fun weekend to dance and eat great food. The festival holds a special place in my family’s hearts.

My family for decades has played a role in putting on the festival. Our family has been making salads for the festival for longer than I’ve been alive! It may not sound very exiting but it was, and still a great time. It was something that my grandfather (Papou, in Greek) was extremely passionate about. I know that he would be so proud that our family is keeping his favorite tradition alive. This year I went and helped make salads on Friday and it was just like old times. I’m so glad I could be a part of it. Here are some pictures from our day at the festival.

Greek salad is so delicious yet so simple! Here is my cousin Trisha, my boyfriend Bryan, and I making some salads!

Hundreds of people attend the festival every year so it’s safe to say we stay pretty busy!

And of course we couldn’t go without eating the delicious gyros! This made me miss Greece so much!

My sister was pretty excited about the gyros…and so was I.

This is such a fun experience for me every year and I’m glad I could share some pieces of it with you all! Thanks for reading!
