Hello there! 

As you may have read in my previous post I am spending the summer in Greece with my family. I am so fortunate to have family here and enjoy coming to visit but I’ve always felt like there’s so much more to see aside from the city my dad is from. 

This weekend I was finally able to do a bit of traveling and I LOVED it! My family and I went to a nearby island, Skiathos. It is located next to Skopelos, the island where the infamous Mama Mia took place. 

                

Our trip was only for the day but it was filled with adventures. Greece is filled with beauty and I was so happy to explore. 

Our day began with a bus trip to Volos. From Volos we took a boat to Skiathos. The boat was a mini cruise filled with dancing, drinks, and beautiful scenery. 

  

  

The boat trip was about two hours. Our first stop in Skiathos was at the beach. As expected, the beach was beautiful. The beach by my house has small rocks as opposed to sand so this sandy beach was a nice change. My sister and I rode a jetski here. It was my first time! I had so much fun even though I was scared for my life!! 

   

After a couple of hours on the beach we got on the boat and headed around the island to the downtown area. Downtown Skiathos was beautiful! From the cobblestone streets to the colorful buildings I was in awe. So much beauty in one place! 

            

We stopped for dinner where I had a souvlaki dish. I ate quickly and went off shopping. There were cute shops all down the streets. It’s safe to say I was in my happy place. To finish the trip off I got some ice cream and a frappé for the boat ride home. 

  

This country’s beauty surprises me more and more each year. I hope to do more traveling in the future. This will hold me over for now!
