Hi everyone!

I started this year off with a mini weekend getaway to New York City with my mom and sister. It was my mom’s first time in the city so I wanted to show her as much as I could in just 3 days! I took lots of pictures to capture all our memories and I thought I’d share them here.

When we arrived on Thursday morning, and of course the first thing we did was visit Times Square. Surprisingly, there weren’t that many people out so it was kind of nice.

After Times Square we walked over to Bryant Park. We walked through the shops, saw the ice skaters, and got some coffee. After we got some coffee, we started walking down 5th Ave where we did our share of window shopping! Along the way, we visited St. Patrick’s Cathedral and Rockafeller Center. I loved seeing my mom’s face after seeing the tree for the first time, it was the tree topper that really got her!

At this point, we worked up an appetite and stopped at Bill’s Burgers for some lunch. Bill’s was right in Rockafeller Center and super convenient. The food was pretty good for plain old American cuisine. I was mostly surprised at the speediness of service in such a busy place.

After lunch it was was time to check in to our hotel. Pictures couldn’t do it justice but our room had an amazing view of Times Square. We spent some time in the hotel room and then made our way to dinner. On our way, we stopped to see the tree again, this time at night. Per usual, it was breathtaking. I’m so happy my mom got to see it!

We had dinner in Astoria at our favorite Greek restaurant, Stamatis. In order to get there, we took the subway. My sister and I have used the subway many times but this was my mom’s first time. This picture says it all:

At dinner, we had started with a horiatiki salad (my favorite) and saganaki, a delicious fried cheese. For dinner, I had beefteki, Greek meatball burgers. The food was phenomenal.

After dinner we went back to the hotel and to bed. It was a long day! The next day, we went to see the 9/11 memorial.

Next, we walked the Brooklyn Bridge. This was actually my first time walking the bridge. It was a foggy day but even so, the view was amazing.

Today we had lunch at Juniors. The food was ok, we weren’t too impressed BUT the cheesecake lived up to its reputation. I got a strawberry cheesecake, my mom got red velvet, and my sister got plain. All three were absolutely delicious.

After lunch we went to the hotel to relax for a bit. That night we went to see Moulin Rouge on Broadway. It was an incredible show. I definitely recommend this show to anyone! I’m not gunna lie I cried at least twice. The show was beautiful and we had a blast.

Our last day in the City, we did more shopping! One of my favorite stores was a bookstore (shocker). Strand Bookstore is an independent bookstore that is absolutely humongous. I think there were four floors! My mom and sister literally had to pull me out of there, I could’ve stayed for hours.

The last thing we did was go to my absolute favorite place in the City, the Nugget Spot. I’ve been going to this place for years. They literally only serve chicken nuggets, a dream come true! They have all different nuggets with a variety of sauces. I always get the cheese nuggets with a nacho sauce.

Overall we had such a great time. I’m so thankful to have had this trip with my mom and sister. I love NYC and can’t wait to go back! I can’t wait for our next adventure!

As always, thanks for reading!
